- Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV

DOLPHIN & SEA LION PHOTO ENCOUNTERS at OCEAN ADVENTURE

VIDEO for you!

While other theme parks take you for a spin, Ocean Adventure, the country’s first and only marine park, puts some sense back into fun with its informative animal shows and programs.Only Ocean Adventure can combine entertainment and education with the help of friendly false killer whales, intelligent dolphins and comic sea lions.

Be amazed as false killer whales and dolphins do aerial acrobatics with grace and power in their all-natural lagoon home. While they zip and spin in the air, kids and adults alike learn more about these astounding animals – how they communicate, swim or dive with ease and how they are leading Ocean Adventure’s efforts to protect the ocean and all the animals that live in it.

South American Sea Lions, on the other hand, are the resident clowns at Ocean Adventure. But while providing tons of laughs during their program, these witty, wily and sometimes stubborn animals show their trainers who’s the boss when it comes to environmental protection. See them balance beach balls on their noses and put environmentally-destructive plastic bottles in their respective trash receptacles. They also play Sherlock Holmes with their trainers and hunt down environmental misfits. You’ll likewise be astonished when they deliver their environmental message in their own tongue!

Aside from animal shows, Ocean Adventure also offer animal encounter programs for children aged 8 and up. The 45minute whale encounter program, the first and only open-water interactive program in the country, lets kids meet a whale eye-to-eye, hand-to-fin and feettofluke.

Under proper supervision, participants can ride on, touch, feed and hug their new friend while learning more about their habitat, behavior and environmental importance.

For certified divers, Ocean Adventure also offers a chance to get deeper with false killer whales with its ‘Dive With The Whales’ program. The adventure starts with a personalized introduction of the individual whales you’ll be meeting beneath the lagoon. Divers learn more about their personality, behavior, physiology and uncanny abilities underwater. Then, its 30 minutes of bliss as divers touch, swim and explore their underwater world with them.

For those who want to work with animals, Ocean Adventure offers interested parties the opportunity to become trainers for a day. You’ll help prepare food, participate in training sessions and receive personalized instructions on how to train and care for animals at Ocean Adventure.

What more can you ask for? Only Ocean Adventure combines fun, education and thrilling close encounters with animals from the deep.

DAVAO CROCODILE PARK

PICTURES for you!

Dsc01557 The Davao CROCODILE PARK has been around
for years. It was one of places where onle school
children go to for field trips.

Last year, the Dizon family-owned park moved to a
new and better home. After the change of location
and the improved amenities, locals and tourists
started to flock to the place to see animals,
interact with nature and have some fun.

Although the park is not a full-pledged zoo, it is
one of the few places in the city where children
can learn more about the rich flora and fauna of
Davao City and the rest of the Philippines.

On Sundays, families and barkadas flock to the
park to be amazed at the antics of the lazy but
fierce crocodiles, the colorful plumes of birds, and

For almost 15 years now, a fun-filled excursion to Star City is just as much a Pinoy yuletide staple as bibingka at puto bumbong, parol or Misa de Gallo. The best part is that you don’t have to wait too long to revel in the holiday spirit because the magic of Christmas begins when the Filipino family’s favorite entertainment center opens its gates on September 16 with a promise of "Saya to the Max!"

Dsc07113 With Star City’s convenient location, affordable tickets, great rides and programs, I think you’ll be hard-pressed to see a more reasonably priced form of entertainment for the whole family, "That’s why we call the Star City experience ‘Saya to the Max’." LUNETA PARK

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8EbOXDFsxaMdc

Dsc03562 Luneta Park is situated in the heart of the city of Manila, Philippines. It is at the northern end of Roxas Boulevard, overlooking Manila Bay.

It was called Bagumbayan in Spanish times, and became known later on as Luneta. It is also called Rizal Park, officially called so by 1917 in tribute to the Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. The body of the hero is said to lie under his memorial statue there, with ceremonial soldiers guarding the site. His poem, "Mi Ultimo Adios" ("My Final Goodbye") is inscribed in the memorial plaque.

The name "Luneta" is synonymous to the word lunette; the park was said to have the shape of a half moon in Spanish times, where it was beside a Spanish fort serving as a buffer during rebellions by the locals.

Dsc03576 The park in modern times has become a local spot for families to have picnics on Sundays and holidays. It has a small man-made lake with a replica of the Philippine Islands in the middle. The park has recreational value as well, as bands, orchestras and other sorts of entertainment are provided for free in its open-air auditorium, aptly called "Concert at the Park". Other attractions of Rizal Park include the Chinese and Japanese Gardens, the Department of Tourism main office, the National Museum of the Filipino People, The National Library of the hilippines, the Planetarium, the monument of the Philippines' first hero, Lapu-Lapu, a fountain area, a children's lagoon, a chess plaza, a light and sound presentation, and the Quirino Grandstand.
